Jerilyn McIntyre

Jerilyn S. McIntyre has published in several genres, from academic research to personal essays and memoirs, fiction (including a romantic short story set in Florence), and humorous stories chronicling the adventures of Harley, a charismatic black cat. Harley’s exploits in Italy were also the focus of two independently published novellas for middle grade readers—“Paws in the Piazza” and “The Shadow of the Unscratchable.” (Paws was also translated into Italian.) Her most recent publication is “Enchanted:Time and the Mountain,” a time travel fantasy for middle grade readers. In the wings, hopefully to be published soon, is “Through a Lens: A Florentine Romance,” a novel for adult readers.

An assignment in Florence finds Julia surrounded by a shadowy underground sex trafficking ring, threatening not only Julia but also those around her.

At the turn of the millennium, Julia decides to make a change and pursue her passion for freelance photography and writing. Her first assignment takes her to Florence, where she reconnects with Robert, a former boyfriend.

Things take a dark turn, however, when she unwittingly becomes entangled in a dangerous underground world of sex trafficking and violence.

Then Robert disappears.

Julia's search for answers leads her to become involved with police officer Nic Rossi, who is investigating the trafficking ring in the wake of his wife’s disappearance.

Julia and Nic grow closer, the stakes get higher, and dangers become more imminent.

Will Julia find Robert and discover the truth before it’s too late? Or will ruthless traffickers silence both of them?
